Will.i.am
William James Adams Jr., better known by his stage name Will.I.am, is an American rapper, producer, actor, songwriter and entrepreneur. He gained international fame as one of the founding members, producers and front man of the Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum Pop-group “The Black Eyed Peas”.
This artsy individual has always been ambitious and followed his own mind, which probably is the reason he is one of the most requested producers. He has produced great music for Justin Timberlake, Kelis, Mariah Carey and even music legends like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston and Carlos Santana.
His first solo album “Lost Change” was at the same time soundtrack to the same-titled movie. But the ultimate breakthrough came with The Black Eyed Peas single “Where is the Love?” Soon after, he recorded his second solo album “Must be 21”. The third album “Songs about Girls” was in 2007 the most successful for him. However, the success was not yet enough to establish himself as a solo artist. For this record Will.i.am was inspired by all kinds of music genres, even European Club sounds, Baile Funk and Punk. He used the same sounds on his following album “Change is Now: Renewing America’s Promise”.
The album was also his way of supporting Barack Obama in his presidential bid. For the first single “Yes We Can”, Will.i.am took an inspiring speech by Obama and basically accompanied it with background music. He was rewarded with an Emmy Award for this accomplishment.
While Will.i.Am alias “Zuper Blahq” released an Electro album, the next Hip Hop album “Black Einstein” is at the ready.
