Pitbull
Armando Christian Pérez, better known as Pitbull, was born in Miami, as a child of Cuban immigrants. Despite a difficult youth, he graduated from high school and soon after that decided to fully dedicate himself to pursuing a music career. He grasped every little chance he could possibly get to perform anywhere, until one day Lil Jon came along and offered young Peréz a feature on the album “King of Crunk”. Pitbull seized the once in a lifetime opportunity and subsequently released a number of highly successful mix tapes of himself.
In 2004 Pitbull signed a recording contract with TVT Record, which released his three independent No. 1 albums “M.I.A.M.I: Money Is A Major Issue” (2004), “El Mariel” (2006) und “The Boatlift” (2007). The albums manifested Pitbull’s reputation of being one of the most ecletic rappers ever. He released a significant number of clubhits in collaboration with his mentor Lil Jon.
Soon after leaving TVT Records, he signed a deal with the major Sony’s music label Grounds Music/J Records and soon after that, in 2009 he received the Latin Digital Download Artist of The Year award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. As of now, Pitbull is one of the most requested features in the music industry. You've heard him alongside Akon, Jennifer Lopez, Benni Benassi, T-Pain, Trey Songz and countless more artists. In return, the biggest stars wanted to be featured on Pitbull's own record "Planet Pit". The outcome were a number of songs featuring big names like Davin Guetta, Neyo, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias and Chris Brown, only to name a few. "Planet Pit" was an incredible international success on the charts as well as the dancefloors.
The biggest honor for Pitbull however, is to own “The Key of the City” Miami, which he attained due to the usage his music to widely promote Miami’s nightlife attractions. His up-tempo beats are obviously more than perfect for the club-scene. However his music equally attracts Urban, Latin and Pop music fans because Pitbull masters the skill of perfectly blending and harmonizing different music genres, like no other rapper. Solely Pitbull can fabricate a kick-ass sound made out of Hip Hop and Eurodance elements, combined with tough rap and catchy hooks.
