Ke$ha
Kesha Rose Sebert, born on March 1, 1987, and is an American singer/songwriter. She quit high school at 17 in order to pursue a music career. One day she met Dr. Luke who was on the search for a singer with an exceptional sound and style to herself. At the time he was also working with Hip Hop artist Flo Rida on the song "Right Round", a track for Flo Rida's second album and he suggested Ke$ha should lay down some vocals in it. The track peaked at the top of the US Billboard Charts and scored more than 636,000 downloads in its first week out. At the same time it went on to break the all-time one-week digital single sales record.
The success opened a lot more doors for Ke$ha but she, however, decided to continue singing background vocals and writing songs for other artists, while waiting for the right opportunity.
Very soon Ke$ha had a turn of fait. She signed her own record deal with the major RCA Records and it wouldn't take much longer for her to break through in the music industry, as a solo artist. Her first single release "Tik Tok" was a massive national and international hit. The song peaked at No.1 on the US Billboard Charts and numerous international charts. "Tik Tok" was soon followed by "We Are What We Are", which was another international success, and also peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard Charts. She continued to release a number of top ten hits.
Subsequently the appendant album "Animal" was released and, unsurprisingly, it too debuted at No. 1 on the US Album Charts and was in the Top 10 album charts in several other countries.
