Ja Rule
J&A are the initials of his real name, Jeffrey Atkins; the additional RULE stands for "Represents Unconditional Love Exists".
He stands out with his croaky rough voice and catchy beats, sometimes rough sometimes more R&B-oriented tunes, and so often accompanied by the wonderfully gifted voices of singers such as Ashanti, J-Lo or even Mary J. Blige.
He was discovered by Murder Inc CEO Irv Gotti who, at the time, was enjoying a strong and good reputation in the Hip Hop world. In 1999 Ja dropped his first album "Venni Vetti Vecci" and released singles like “Holla, Holla” and “Can I get A…” (feat. Jay-Z), which brought him fame and recognition as well as enabled JA a life in the fast lane.
After uncountable features it was time for a follow-up and “RULE 3:36” became a massive commercial success certified double-platinum. With “Always On Time” and several other hit singles, Ja opened doors for upcoming talents like Ashanti or Lil Mo.
