Drake
Drizzy Drake was born as Aubrey Drake Graham on October 24, 1986 Toronto, Ontario. He actually started his career as an actor but eventually his musical talent won out, because the love for music was stronger. In addition to his outstanding rap technique and strong lyrics, the Canadian is also a wonderful singer as often demonstrated in his choruses.
Despite encouragement and support from hip-hop heavyweights like Jay Z or Lil 'Wayne, Drake still remained without a record contract for a long time. This situation, however, soon changed. When the single "Best I Ever Had" appeared in 2009, the major labels vied Drizzy Drake and outbid each other. Drake decided to stay with his mentor Lil 'Wayne and signed a cooperation agreement between Young Money Entertainment and Universal Records.
His debut album "Thank Me Later" was released in June and offered collaborations with the super stars like Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Lil 'Wayne and Young Money as well as newcomer Nicky Minaj. The album immediately climbed to the top of the Billboard charts as well as the Canadian charts and went platinum.
The next album was called "Take Care" and was released on his birthday, October 24th 2011. With currently almost 1.8 million copies sold and number 4 in the UK charts, "Take Care" is even more successful than "Thank Me Later."
