The 21-year-old B.o.B, Bobby Ray Simmons is not renowned as an exceptional lyricist, multi-instrumentalist and producer for nothing. That’s probably the reason why he is signed for 3 successful labels namely Rebel Rock, Grand Hustle and Atlantic.
“Nothin’ On You” (feat. Bruno Mars) was not only his first release but also directly topped the US Billboard-Single-Charts and within no time emerged to platinum status with over 1 million sold copies! In the meantime B.o.B’s Myspace page, www.myspace.com/bobatl, recorded more than incredible 26 million plays.
After a few weeks of experimenting and a time of turbulence as a member of a rap group named “Da Clinic”, B.o.B decided to do away with music for a while but B-Rich offered his services as a manager and convinced B.o.B to stay in the game. His debut single “Haterz Everywhere” (2007) broke through in the music world by Atlanta manner and made his name and face unforgettable for everyone who heard the music. The Hip Hop-Powerhouse Grand Hustle was the first label to show serious interest in B.o.B and it turned out to be a fateful decision for them to sign him right away.
He made a guest performance in T.I.‘s & Ludacris‘ hit “On Top of the World” and in return received comparisons to Outkast member Andre 3000.
