Curtis Jackson a.k.a. 50 Cent was already discovered by Jam Master Jay (†) long time before his breakthrough.
But before he got the chance to release an album he got shot nine times, like every child knows by now, and which is still a part of his myth.
2003 he got the attention by Dr. Dre & Eminem and in a few months they made him a megastar. In the US 50’s first Album “Get rich or die tryin” was the most successful album of 2003 with over 11 Million solds worldwide.
Two years later his second album “The Massacre” has been released and Games Debut album as well. This led to the fact that 50 hit the charts with 5 Singles at the same time
In the following years his beef with Ja Rule, The Game and Rick Ross became big topics of conversation in the scene and in the media.
Even in the time when he didn’t drop an album he could fill his “piggy bank” with money from the releases of the other G-Unit Members and his own clothing line.
In the spring of 2010 Streetlife had a gig with 50 Cent in Athens and you can count on seeing him in Europe again very soon.
